Incumbent Ken Sim leads Vancouver's October 17 mayoral race in recent polling among decided voters, yet trader odds remain tight due to persistent vote-splitting risks among progressive challengers. Three left-leaning parties have yet to consolidate behind one candidate despite earlier pledges, leaving Pete Fry, Stephanie Allen, and William Azaroff all active as the September 11 nomination deadline nears. High undecided shares (around one-third) and Sim's underwater approval ratings further compress margins, while Kareem Allam draws notable support as a centrist alternative. Any unity deal or late shifts in turnout dynamics among key blocs could quickly alter the field before ballots are cast.
