Recent National Weather Service guidance and model consensus point to a Friday high near 97°F in Dallas under mostly sunny skies and light southerly flow, supporting the market's tight clustering around 94–97°F outcomes. A weak front brought scattered storms and lower readings near 87–92°F on Thursday, but rapid re-warming is underway as high pressure rebuilds and dew points remain elevated, yielding heat indices above 100°F. Climatologically, the 1991–2020 average high for September 4 is 93°F, so the current setup favors values modestly above normal with only a 20% shower chance that is unlikely to suppress the maximum. Updated model runs and the next NWS forecast discussion will be the key near-term catalysts for any shift in trader positioning.
