Marine layer strengthening and onshore southwest flow are suppressing San Francisco's high temperature on September 16, 2026, with National Weather Service and model guidance centering on 64–68°F amid increased cloud cover and a cut-off low over Northern California. This setup deepens the cool, moist boundary layer typical of late summer, limiting solar heating compared to the 70.8°F September average and recent warmer days earlier in the month. Trader consensus around 66–69°F reflects this persistent marine influence, with modest upside risk if the layer thins faster than expected during peak afternoon hours. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon observations will refine resolution odds as conditions evolve.
