The Parti Québécois maintains its position as the frontrunner in trader consensus for the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election due to consistent leads in recent polling aggregates around 28-30 percent support, ahead of the Coalition Avenir Québec. The PQ's advantage stems from sustained francophone backing and the campaign's early dynamics, though the CAQ has narrowed the gap sharply in late August surveys, gaining 5-7 points to reach 24-27 percent amid voter concerns over U.S. tariffs and trade instability that favor the incumbent party's experience under new leader Christine Fréchette. The Quebec Liberal Party trails further at 20-22 percent with limited francophone appeal, while the Parti Conservateur du Québec and Québec solidaire register lower single-digit to mid-teen shares concentrated in specific regions like Quebec City. Seat projections reflect a competitive race favoring a PQ plurality or minority government over a majority, with tight multi-party contests across ridings shaping the outcome.
