The Richmond riding in Quebec’s October 5, 2026, National Assembly election features a multi-candidate contest among established parties after incumbent CAQ MNA André Bachand opted not to run. Strong local profiles—CAQ nominee Guillaume Rousseau (legal scholar and former PQ candidate with ties to Bill 21), PQ nominee and ex-Sherbrooke mayor Bernard Sévigny, Liberal Hugo Fontaine, Conservative Dominic Bouffard, and Québec solidaire’s David Poulin-Latulippe—have produced closely matched trader odds. Provincial polling volatility, with the PQ gaining ground and the CAQ defending a 2022 majority seat now projected as a toss-up, sustains uncertainty. Recent candidate announcements, the August 27 writ drop, and local concerns over housing and turnout have not yet produced separation, leaving the outcome sensitive to late-campaign shifts in party momentum or voter mobilization in this mixed Estrie riding.
