The Maskinongé riding features a competitive multi-party field ahead of the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election, with traders assigning closely matched probabilities to several contenders. Incumbent Simon Allaire reversed an earlier decision not to seek re-election and now runs for the CAQ, facing PQ candidate Isabelle Blais, PLQ nominee and former mayor Nancy Mignault, returning QS candidate Simon Piotte, and PCQ entrant Marc-André Cloutier. The campaign launch in late August and final candidate confirmations have sustained uncertainty, as local dynamics in the Mauricie region and the absence of a clear frontrunner keep implied probabilities tight among the main options. Advance voting occurs September 27–28, with any late shifts in party support or turnout potentially widening gaps before results resolve the market.
