Incumbent Løgmaður Beinir Johannesen leads trader consensus at 72% implied probability to remain Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands, driven by his Sambandsflokkurin's top finish with eight seats in the April 29 Løgting election and ongoing coalition talks with Jenis av Rana's seven-seat Lagtingið party, which could secure a slim majority in the 33-seat parliament. Bárður á Steig Nielsen's Miðflokkurin (four seats) trails at 27%, positioning him as a potential alternative amid unionist dynamics, while former Løgmaður Aksel V. Johannesen's Javnaðarflokkurin (six seats) sits at 22% as opposition. Recent developments include Johannesen's May outreach to centrists, boosting his odds, with Høgni Hoydal (Tjóðveldi, two seats) and Ruth Vang lower due to limited coalition leverage; final government formation remains fluid ahead of June deadlines.
