Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects an 87% implied probability for over 600 US flights cancelled on March 25, propelled by a powerful winter storm battering the Northeast and Midwest with heavy snow, ice, and winds. FlightAware data already logged over 650 cancellations by midday, including ground stops at major hubs like Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Boston Logan (BOS), where low visibility and runway icing forced widespread disruptions across Delta, United, and American Airlines. National Weather Service alerts forecast continued hazardous conditions into the evening, pushing totals higher and aligning with historical weather-driven spikes that routinely exceed such thresholds in affected regions. Traders eye final evening tallies as the key resolution catalyst, with minimal upset risk given the momentum.
