The 2026 Quebec general election campaign, launched after dissolution on August 27 with voting set for October 5, features an open seat in Charlesbourg following the retirement of longtime CAQ MNA Jonatan Julien. This has produced a fragmented contest among five main candidates—Marie-Josée Morency for the CAQ, Seynabou Top for the Liberals, Georges Goma for Québec solidaire, Gabriel Coulombe for the Parti Québécois, and Éloïse Coulombe for the Conservatives—where recent vote projections show the leading parties clustered between roughly 25% and 34%. Trader consensus reflects this multi-party dynamic and limited historical data on the redistributed riding, with no dominant frontrunner emerging from local campaigning or provincial trends. Key variables that could shift probabilities include candidate visibility in the final weeks, turnout among distinct voter bases in the Quebec City area, and any late provincial developments affecting the CAQ or opposition parties.
