Incumbent Democrat Greg Landsman holds a strong position in Ohio’s 1st congressional district ahead of the November 3 general election, backed by a substantial fundraising edge and established name recognition following his 2024 reelection. The seat was redrawn in 2025 to include more Republican-leaning Warren and Clinton counties, narrowing the Democratic margin from prior cycles, yet nonpartisan forecasters rate the race as lean or tilt Democratic. Landsman’s campaign has emphasized healthcare costs and related legislation, while Republican nominee Eric Conroy, a former CIA officer endorsed in the primary, trails significantly in cash on hand. An August poll showed Landsman leading by several points in a contest viewed as competitive but tilted toward the incumbent by trader consensus. Early voting preparations begin in mid-September.
