The midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).South Carolina's 5th congressional district has maintained a consistent Republican tilt, reflected in prior election margins and nonpartisan ratings classifying the seat as Solid or Safe Republican following incumbent Ralph Norman's decision to run for governor. Wes Climer advanced unopposed through the Republican primary as the state senator from the region, while Mallory Dittmer secured the Democratic nomination after prevailing in her June primary. Climer's substantial fundraising edge and the district's established voting patterns have shaped trader consensus around a strong Republican outcome on November 3. Potential shifts could stem from late developments such as candidate scandals, an unusually favorable national environment for Democrats, or unexpected turnout changes in key counties.
