Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models indicate Atlanta highs on August 29 will likely reach the upper 80s under partly sunny skies with east winds around 5 mph. Afternoon instability from high dew points and daytime heating supports scattered thunderstorms, which may limit peak temperatures through cloud cover or earlier cooling. The close market split between 86-87°F (40.5%) and 88-89°F (31%) reflects uncertainty in storm timing and coverage—stronger or earlier convection could cap readings near 86-87°F, while delayed or isolated activity allows brief peaks near 88-89°F. Historical late-August patterns in the region show similar variability around 85-90°F under comparable moisture regimes.
