Persistent hot and humid conditions across southeast Texas, with a stable subtropical air mass and mostly clear skies, are keeping forecast overnight lows in Houston elevated for September 20. Official National Weather Service and NOAA model guidance consistently project minimum temperatures in the upper 70s, centered around 77–80°F, consistent with the recent pattern of above-normal warmth that has produced similar readings through mid-September. Limited cloud cover overnight will allow some radiational cooling, yet the lack of any incoming frontal systems or stronger northerly flow prevents significant drops. Market-implied odds favoring the 76–77°F bin at 54.5% reflect this consensus, while the secondary 74–75°F probability accounts for minor model spread or slight forecast revisions ahead of the event.
