Traders see the tightest implied probabilities clustered around 68–71°F for Los Angeles’s lowest temperature on September 14, reflecting substantial forecast uncertainty in the National Weather Service and NOAA model suite. Primary drivers include variable marine-layer depth and onshore flow from the Pacific, which can suppress overnight lows by several degrees, versus clearer skies and lighter winds that allow greater radiational cooling. Ensemble guidance shows modest spread in boundary-layer moisture and wind speed, keeping outcomes from 62–73°F within reach depending on the exact timing of any coastal stratus. Historical September climatology for downtown Los Angeles centers near 65–68°F, so current consensus aligns with near-normal conditions while acknowledging that small shifts in the marine inversion or a late onshore push could push readings lower or higher before the daily minimum is recorded.
