Democratic nominee Rebecca Bennett, a former Navy pilot who won her party's June 2 primary, holds a clear edge over Republican incumbent Thomas Kean Jr. in New Jersey's 7th congressional district. Recent polls from May show Bennett leading by margins ranging from 3 to 21 points in head-to-head testing, reflecting the district's competitive partisan balance and voter response to Kean's extended absence due to health issues. These developments have shaped trader consensus around Democratic prospects ahead of the November 3 general election, with the race rated a toss-up by major forecasters and both parties expected to invest heavily in this swing seat.
