Incumbent Republican Steve Scalise faces limited opposition in Louisiana’s 1st congressional district jungle primary on November 3, 2026, where a majority vote is required for an outright win or a December runoff follows. The district’s consistent Republican lean, Scalise’s prior 66.8% general-election performance, and the presence of only one other declared Republican plus a Democratic challenger have produced trader consensus that the incumbent will exceed 50% and avoid a second round. No major late developments—such as candidate withdrawals, polling shifts, or significant endorsements—have altered this positioning ahead of the November ballot.
