Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources project an Atlanta high in the upper 80s on August 29, with partly sunny skies, light easterly winds, and a 30-40% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms that could cap peak temperatures through evaporative cooling and increased cloud cover. This setup follows a period of higher readings earlier in the month and reflects typical late-summer Gulf moisture and weak steering patterns that favor scattered convection rather than widespread clearing. Trader consensus splits probabilities between the 86-87°F and 88-89°F bins because the precise timing and coverage of storms remain the dominant uncertainty ahead of final observational data, while lower or higher outcomes appear less likely given current guidance.
