Recent NWS forecasts and model consensus point to a high near 65°F in San Francisco on August 29, driven by a deepening Pacific trough that has strengthened onshore flow and the marine layer since late August. This pattern has produced breezy west-to-northwest winds of 10–20 mph with gusts to 30 mph, limiting afternoon warming despite partly cloudy skies and only trace shower chances. Trader positioning clusters around the 66–69°F bins because small differences in the exact timing of stratus clearance or wind strength can shift the daily maximum by a degree or two, while climatological late-August normals near 69°F provide a reference point. Updated NWS guidance and high-resolution model runs over the next 24 hours will likely tighten the distribution ahead of market resolution.
