Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model guidance indicate marine layer strengthening and onshore flow will moderate temperatures in coastal Los Angeles on August 28, following an extreme heat warning through Friday evening. This positions the daily high near 84–86°F at key stations like LAX, consistent with the market’s leading 84–85°F (47.5%) and 86–87°F (29%) bins. Sea breezes and morning cloud cover are expected to limit inland-style peaks despite broader regional warmth, aligning with climatological patterns for late-August coastal stabilization. Traders appear to weigh updated NWS briefings and ensemble runs heavily, as minor shifts in boundary layer moisture or wind could adjust outcomes before resolution.
