Persistent easterly flow and high atmospheric moisture from the subtropical ridge are sustaining overnight lows in the upper 70s across Miami-Dade, with National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models converging on 77–79°F for September 17. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms expected during the day will increase cloud cover and humidity, limiting radiational cooling while steering patterns keep any drier air suppressed. This setup aligns with late-summer climatology, where Miami’s average September low hovers near 76°F, though timing of convective outflows could nudge readings a degree or two lower. Market-implied odds reflect tight clustering around 76–79°F bins because small forecast shifts in dew points or wind speed could resolve the outcome either way ahead of the final NWS verification.
