James Duckworth enters the Stuttgart Open grass-court matchup as the clear favorite against lower-ranked home player Diego Dedura-Palomero, reflecting his top-80 ranking, deeper ATP experience, and stronger recent results. The Australian has secured seven wins in his last ten matches, including notable grass performances at the event in prior years, while the 18-year-old Dedura-Palomero sits at No. 262 with a career high of 258 and limited main-draw exposure after a mixed Challenger run. No significant injuries or withdrawals have altered the field, though the fast grass surface and Duckworth’s serve-oriented game align with his stylistic edge in this round-of-32 encounter.
