Hanna Chang faces rising American teenager Julieta Pareja in the opening round of the ITF W50 Columbus on hard courts. Pareja leads their head-to-head 1-0 and enters with momentum from a WTA-level win over Elizabeth Mandlik in Bogotá plus consistent junior success that has elevated her ranking near 350-380. Chang, ranked around 329, brings more ITF experience and recent titles on Asian hard courts but has mixed results in qualifiers and early rounds. Both players are American, limiting travel factors, while Pareja’s youth and recent form give her an edge in stamina and ball-striking consistency on this surface.
