Su's clutch 3-2 decider win over Chinese Taipei propelled Hong Kong forward, showcasing resilience under pressure, while Kaufmann opened Germany's campaign with a solid 3-1 victory against North Korea's Kim Kum Yong. Kaufmann holds a ranking edge around 60th to Su's 82nd, but her recent 0-3 defeat to elite Japanese star Miwa Harimoto on May 3 tempers sentiment; no prior head-to-head exists.
