**Recent official forecasts and model consensus position 31–32°C as the most likely peak temperatures for Taipei on September 17, 2026, aligning closely with the market's leading outcomes (42.5% on 32°C, 32.5% on 31°C).** Subtropical conditions in mid-September feature northeasterly flow, moderate solar insolation, and high humidity that supports daytime warming while limiting extreme heat. Multiple sources, including Central Weather Administration guidance and ensemble models, indicate partly cloudy skies with highs centered around 28–32°C (roughly 82–90°F), driven by light-to-moderate NE winds and minimal precipitation expected during peak heating hours. Urban heat island effects in Taipei can add 1–2°C locally compared with surrounding areas, favoring the upper end of this range. The market-implied probabilities reflect aggregated trader assessment of forecast uncertainty, with the tight clustering around 31–32°C indicating confidence in near-term model runs while acknowledging potential shifts from revised guidance, localized cloud development, or wind changes. Historical September baselines for Taipei (typical highs near 30–32°C) provide additional context, though current northeasterly patterns and the absence of strong tropical influences keep extremes below 34°C unlikely. Updated model runs and CWA briefings ahead of the 17th will be key data points for traders.
