Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance point to a warm, humid Tuesday in Chicago driven by southerly flow ahead of an approaching cold front, with forecast highs centered in the low-to-mid 80s. Recent runs show modest spread around peak temperatures, reflecting uncertainty in afternoon cloud cover, shower timing, and any lake-breeze moderation that could cap readings near 78–79 °F versus allowing brief spikes to 82–83 °F. Historical September 15 averages near 76 °F provide context, while the 70 % precipitation probability introduces additional variability in realized maxima. Updated model cycles and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours remain the key catalysts for shifts in market-implied odds.
