Trump’s approval ratings have remained underwater in 2026, with recent polling averages from aggregators such as Silver Bulletin, RealClearPolitics, and the New York Times showing figures between 35% and 39.6% approve and net ratings near -19 to -20 as of early September. Economic concerns, including cost-of-living pressures, tariffs on Canadian and other imports, and voter pessimism about conditions ahead, have weighed on support, with multiple surveys recording new lows on handling of the economy and jobs. The unresolved Iran conflict, which began with U.S. strikes earlier in the year, has also contributed to public fatigue. With November midterms approaching, traders are monitoring whether further economic data releases, tariff adjustments, or foreign-policy developments could push ratings lower before year-end.
