Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Denver points to a minimum temperature near 60–63°F on September 4, driven by southerly flow, limited cloud cover, and above-average dew points that reduce overnight radiative cooling. This aligns with the ongoing warm, dry pattern persisting after an exceptionally hot summer, with no strong cold front or upslope event expected before the date. Historical averages place the September 4 low at 54°F, so current conditions favor readings well above normal. The near-even split between sub-55°F and 74°F+ outcomes in the market reflects uncertainty in the precise strength of downslope warming versus any late-day clearing that could allow greater cooling, with updated model runs and evening observations likely to sharpen the range between 56–69°F bins.
