The Quebec general election on October 5, 2026, features a closely contested race in Vanier-Les Rivières following the retirement of the incumbent CAQ MNA. Trader consensus reflects a competitive three-way dynamic among Patrick Paquet of the Conservative Party of Quebec, Françoise Faverjon-Fortin of the CAQ, and Stéphanie Martin of the Parti Québécois, with recent projections placing these parties within a few points of one another in the low-to-mid 20s to low 30s percent range. Candidate nominations in August, including Paquet's switch from municipal politics and Martin's background as a local journalist, have kept local issues such as governance experience, fiscal priorities, and sovereignty questions in focus. The nomination deadline of September 17 and upcoming advance polls could allow further differentiation through campaigning before official results from Élections Québec determine the winner.
