The Richmond riding in the October 5, 2026 Quebec general election features a fragmented field of established local candidates, producing tight trader pricing across Bernard Sévigny (PQ), Guillaume Rousseau (CAQ), Hugo Fontaine (PLQ), Dominic Bouffard (PCQ), and David Poulin-Latulippe (QS). Provincial polling volatility, the departure of incumbent CAQ MNA André Bachand, and Richmond’s recent shifts between Liberal and CAQ control keep the contest open. Sévigny’s municipal profile, Rousseau’s legal prominence on laïcité issues, and Fontaine’s media background create competing appeals in a riding blending urban Sherbrooke voters with regional priorities on housing and services. With nominations closing mid-September and no dominant frontrunner in aggregates, modest swings in turnout or late campaign events could separate the contenders.
