Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs indicate sunny conditions and highs in the low-to-mid 80s °F for downtown and coastal Los Angeles on September 2, driven by weak onshore flow and a shallow marine layer that limits afternoon warming. This follows the recent retreat of elevated humidity from Tropical Storm Iselle remnants, returning the region closer to climatological norms near 77 °F. Trader consensus clustering around 74–79 °F bins reflects uncertainty in exact peak values, which hinge on marine-layer depth, wind speed at the official observation site, and any late-day clearing that could add a few degrees. Updated short-range model runs and the next NWS forecast discussion will clarify whether readings stay near the lower end of guidance or edge higher.
