Forecast consensus from NWS and major models points to an overnight low near 57–58°F for San Francisco on September 2, driven by moderate southwest onshore flow and a persistent marine layer that limits radiative cooling. Nighttime temperatures hinge on cloud cover, wind mixing, and dewpoint depression; lighter winds or clearer skies could allow dips toward the mid-50s, while increased marine stratus or drizzle would hold readings higher. Historical September 2 averages near 56°F provide context, yet short-term model spread creates the near-even market odds between the 54–55°F and sub-50°F bins versus the 56–58°F range. Updated evening model runs and local observations will refine the minimum before resolution.
