This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 1 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Forecast models and current atmospheric conditions point to a narrow range of possible daily maximum temperatures for Hong Kong on September 1, centered on 29–30 °C, which explains the closely matched market-implied probabilities (36.5 % for 29 °C and 35 % for 30 °C).** Official guidance from the Hong Kong Observatory and numerical models (including ECMWF and GFS runs) indicate partly cloudy skies with scattered showers or thunderstorms developing through the afternoon, driven by a broad low-pressure trough and northeast monsoon flow. These conditions introduce modest cooling via reduced solar insolation and evaporative effects, keeping the peak below the long-term September 1 average maximum of 31.2 °C. Winds of 10–20 km/h from the north-northeast further enhance mixing and limit extreme surface heating. The modest probabilities assigned to 31 °C (12 %) and higher reflect residual uncertainty in shower timing and coverage; clearer breaks could allow brief warming to the low 30s, while more persistent rain would favor 28–29 °C. With resolution imminent, traders are weighting the latest model consensus and observed humidity/dew-point values near 24–26 °C, which support a surface maximum tightly clustered around the historical early-September norm but tempered by expected convective activity.
