If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble forecasts point to a highest temperature near 64–68°F for San Francisco on September 1, shaped by persistent troughing along the West Coast that keeps 850 mb temperatures several degrees below seasonal norms. Onshore southwest flow and a deepening marine layer promote daytime cloud cover and evaporative cooling, limiting afternoon warming despite clear periods later in the day. This pattern aligns with late-August observations of highs in the low-to-mid 60s and historical September averages near 70°F that are currently suppressed by stronger-than-normal onshore advection. Trader emphasis on the tightly bunched 66–71°F bins reflects model spread around marine-layer depth and wind trajectory, with resolution hinging on the final NWS forecast update and official observation at the downtown or airport station.
