Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and major models show a marine layer returning to coastal Los Angeles, supporting overnight lows near 64°F on September 1 under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with light southwest winds. This aligns closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 64.7°F for the date. Trader sentiment remains split across bins because minor variations in marine layer depth, timing of cloud cover, or radiative cooling overnight can easily shift the recorded minimum by 2–4°F, while the market's 30% odds on both sub-58°F and 76°F+ outcomes likely reflect hedging around measurement station specifics or residual model spread. Updated NWS guidance and next-day model runs will further tighten probabilities ahead of resolution.
