Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Shanghai’s subtropical monsoon climate typically produces July daily highs of 32–36°C, with urban heat island effects and afternoon solar heating pushing peaks higher under clear or partly cloudy skies. As of July 27, short-range models and recent analogs point to a 35–36°C maximum on July 29, driven by weak steering winds, moderate humidity, and limited precipitation that allow strong insolation while suppressing stronger cooling from clouds or rain. Slight differences between these two outcomes hinge on forecast details such as exact cloud fraction, boundary-layer moisture, and any late-day sea-breeze influence near the official measurement station. Ensemble spread remains modest but acknowledges that an unexpected shower or thicker cloud deck could cap the reading at 34°C or allow brief clearing to reach 37°C.
