Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and multiple models show the overnight low for Austin on September 17 centering in the mid- to upper-70s, with consensus lows near 75–78°F amid persistent southeast flow and high humidity. A warm air mass, limited overnight radiative cooling due to moisture and variable cloud cover, and only a slight afternoon storm chance keep temperatures elevated well above the long-term average low of 67°F. This narrow distribution of outcomes explains the closely matched market probabilities for 72–77°F bins, as small shifts in dew points or timing of any clearing could nudge the minimum by a degree or two. Updated model runs and evening observations remain the key near-term catalysts.
