Current National Weather Service and private model guidance for Atlanta on September 6 projects a sunny to mostly sunny day with highs in the mid-90s, supported by light winds, high boundary-layer moisture, and only a 20-40% chance of afternoon convection that is unlikely to suppress peak temperatures significantly. Recent days have featured similar conditions with observed highs of 95-97°F, well above the late-summer climatological average of ~86°F. Trader-implied odds cluster evenly across the 90-99°F range because ensemble spreads and small differences in storm timing, dewpoint advection, and insolation can easily shift the official daily maximum by several degrees within the narrow 90-100°F window. Updated model runs and the National Weather Service afternoon forecast discussion remain the key near-term catalysts.
