Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a daily high in the mid-90s for Houston on September 21, with most guidance centering near 95°F under continued high pressure and light southerly flow advecting warm, humid Gulf air. This setup favors limited cloud cover and modest afternoon mixing, keeping readings above the late-September climatological average of roughly 88°F while capping extreme heat. Trader emphasis on the 94–95°F bin reflects these stable conditions and low near-term variability, though any increase in onshore moisture or convective development could trim the peak by a degree or two. Updated model runs and afternoon observations remain the key near-term catalysts.
