Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a cooler air mass arriving in Denver on September 15, with scattered showers and easterly winds limiting daytime heating and promoting radiational cooling overnight. Ensemble forecasts from NOAA and global models converge on a minimum temperature in the low-to-mid 50s °F, consistent with the market’s tight clustering around the 52–55 °F bins, while historical climatology for the date shows an average low near 50 °F. Key variables separating adjacent outcomes include the exact timing of any frontal passage, cloud-cover duration, and dew-point depression; modest shifts in these can swing the overnight low by a few degrees. Traders are weighting the latest high-resolution model runs and surface observations heavily, with resolution hinging on official Denver International Airport readings at midnight MDT.
