Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Following Slovenia's March 22 parliamentary election, which produced a hung National Assembly with Robert Golob's Freedom Movement securing 29 seats—just ahead of Janez Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party at 28—coalition negotiations have faltered amid fragmented support. Golob's overtures for a broad coalition excluding SDS were rebuffed by key center-right parties like New Slovenia (led by Jernej Vrtovec), while a right-leaning bloc (SDS, NSi/SLS/FOKUS, Democrats under Anže Logar) holds 43 seats, nearing the 46-seat majority threshold. The April 10 constitutive session's election of Zoran Stevanović (Resni.ca) as National Assembly president, backed by 48 votes from SDS and NSi allies, signals deepening right-wing coordination and dims Golob's prospects, driving trader consensus toward Janša as the likely next prime minister with president Nataša Pirc Musar poised to award exploratory mandates soon.
