In the open-seat contest for Vanier-Les Rivières in the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election, trader consensus reflects a tight multi-candidate race among CAQ nominee Françoise Faverjon-Fortin, PQ candidate Stéphanie Martin, and PCQ contender Patrick Paquet, each projected in the mid-20s to low-30s percent range by aggregators, with PLQ's Charles Hudon further back. The retirement of longtime CAQ MNA Mario Asselin has opened the riding to shifts, amid Quebec City trends boosting PCQ support alongside PQ gains and lingering CAQ backing. Local candidate profiles, including Paquet's municipal record and Hudon's enforcement background, combined with debates over governance experience, sovereignty, and fiscal priorities, sustain the balance. The September 17 nomination deadline and advance polling periods may yet sharpen distinctions ahead of official results from Élections Québec.
