The 2026 Ohio gubernatorial race remains closely contested between Republican nominee Vivek Ramaswamy and Democratic nominee Amy Acton, with trader consensus at 53% Republican and 44.5% Democrat reflecting the state’s recent Republican tilt in federal contests alongside Acton’s broad name recognition from her prior role as state health director. Primaries concluded May 5 with both candidates advancing easily in an open-seat contest after term limits ended Mike DeWine’s tenure. Recent polls, including a late May Fox News survey showing a statistical tie and an earlier Bowling Green State University result with Ramaswamy ahead by one point, underscore the narrow margin driven by suburban-rural voting patterns, economic priorities, and turnout dynamics. Upcoming campaign developments through November could widen or close the gap in either direction.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
