Recent polling in the open-seat Georgia gubernatorial contest between Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms and Republican Rick Jackson shows a tight race, with Bottoms typically at 46-52% and Jackson at 43-47%, alongside low undecided shares and minimal third-party support. This positioning, following the May primaries and June Republican runoff, leaves either nominee positioned to consolidate enough votes for a first-round majority above 50%. Georgia's election rules trigger a runoff only if no candidate reaches that threshold, yet historical patterns in statewide races and current ballot consolidation favor an outright result. Traders price the "Yes" outcome at 91% amid the absence of major late-breaking developments or structural factors that would sustain a fragmented vote through November.
