Recent National Weather Service guidance points to a transition toward cooler, more seasonable air on September 23 as a front brings showers and easterly flow to Atlanta, capping highs in the low 80s after unseasonably warm 90-plus readings earlier in the week. Model consensus shows modest spread around 78–83 °F, with cloud cover, precipitation timing, and boundary-layer moisture the main variables that could shift the daily maximum by a degree or two. Historical late-September averages near 81 °F provide context, yet the current pattern favors values clustered in the 78–81 °F range that dominate market-implied probabilities. Updated NWS point forecasts and afternoon model runs remain the key near-term catalysts for any adjustment in trader positioning.
