Forecast models from the Met Office and international sources converge on a maximum of 19–20°C for London on September 16 under a moderate westerly flow, partly cloudy skies, and light winds, aligning closely with the market’s leading outcomes at 50.5% for 20°C and 34% for 19°C. This reflects the typical mid-September transition toward autumnal conditions, with the long-term average high near 20°C at Heathrow but recent days showing a cooling trend from earlier warmth amid changeable Atlantic air masses. Short-range guidance indicates limited diurnal heating due to cloud cover and no significant warm advection or clear-sky amplification expected. Traders appear to weigh these consensus runs heavily, though minor model spreads on exact cloud timing could still nudge the peak by 1°C.
