Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance positions the highest temperature in San Francisco on September 13 near 68–71°F, driving the strong market consensus on the 70–71°F bin. Westerly to northwesterly flow at 10–20 mph, combined with a persistent marine layer and onshore breeze, is expected to moderate inland heating despite clear skies and high pressure. This aligns with the September climatological average high of 70.8°F while following a brief early-month heat spell that peaked at 94°F on September 9. Minor model spread around afternoon maximums and the exact timing of any sea-breeze strengthening keeps the 72–73°F outcome as a secondary possibility, with resolution hinging on the final 24-hour observational updates from downtown and airport stations.
