Recent polling aggregates for New Zealand’s November 2026 general election place Labour and National as the clear first- and second-placed parties on party vote, leaving New Zealand First and the Greens competing for third place under the MMP system that allocates seats proportionally. New Zealand First has posted its strongest sustained support in years, frequently reaching double digits and occasionally exceeding 15 percent in mid-2026 surveys, aided by its governing-coalition profile and targeted campaigning by Winston Peters. The Greens remain competitive in the low-to-mid teens but have shown some softening in recent months. ACT support hovers near 8 percent while smaller parties such as Te Pāti Māori and the rising Opportunities Party sit near or below the five-percent threshold, limiting their prospects for a top-three finish. These trends underpin trader consensus on the third-place outcome.
