Chiang Wan-an, the Kuomintang incumbent seeking re-election in the November 28, 2026 Taipei mayoral race, holds a commanding lead in trader consensus due to consistent double-digit polling margins over Democratic Progressive Party nominee Puma Shen, established cross-party support built during his term, and the KMT’s organizational strength in the capital. Recent party rallies and candidate coordination have reinforced his position ahead of voting day, while Shen’s nomination has not narrowed the gap in available surveys. Late developments such as major scandals, health events, unexpected opposition alliances, or sharp shifts in turnout dynamics could still alter outcomes before ballots are cast.
