Chang Chia-chun’s commanding position in the Yunlin County Magistrate race stems from her February 2026 KMT nomination as the niece of term-limited incumbent Chang Li-shan, allowing her to inherit the dominant local political network of the Chang family. Traders price her at 84% because the family’s longstanding influence in Yunlin’s KMT structure, combined with the outgoing magistrate’s record of awards for smart governance and agricultural upgrades, creates a clear path to victory in the November 28 contest. DPP nominee Liu Chien-kuo, nominated in late 2025 after his narrow 2022 loss, sits at just 7% amid weaker polling trends and limited recent momentum. No major developments in the past month have altered these alignments, with market pricing reflecting the structural advantages of incumbency continuity and party machinery over the DPP challenger.
