National Weather Service forecasts for Atlanta on September 21 indicate a high near 92°F under mostly sunny morning conditions, with temperatures peaking in the upper 80s to low 90s by mid-afternoon per hourly model runs. Afternoon convective development tied to elevated moisture and a weakening ridge introduces the key uncertainty, as scattered showers and thunderstorms could enhance cloud cover, boost evaporative cooling, and cap the daily maximum. This dynamic supports the near-even market split between the 90-91°F and 92-93°F bins, consistent with historical September variability where unseasonable warmth has occasionally pushed peaks above the 82°F climatological average. Updated model guidance and radar trends ahead of peak heating hours will likely refine the outcome.
